This indicates the fall of the island of the ape.

Remember when they first announced they'd be remaking King Kong and Peter Jackson, fresh off of the multi-billion-dollar-grossing, multi-academy-award-winning Lord of the Rings movies was set to direct? Everyone was like, "yeah, that makes sense and will be cool."

Then the movie comes out, and it's like, "why are they spending so much time on the damn island?"

So why are they deciding to make an entire movie based on Skull Island? How many giant bugs can you fill a movie with?

But when they announced a pretty impressive cast, including Michael Keaton and JK Simmons, that gave us all a glimmer of hope. Well, it's now official that they are not going to be included in the cast, likely to star in movies that don't suck instead, and all hopes of this film being halfway decent have dimmed.

Maybe Chris Pratt will be available and he'll be able to whip that island into shape by training all the creatures.
